Spirit of Life Church InternationalSpirit of Life Church International was founded by Bishop Antonio D. Thomas in March of 1995 in Roanoke, Virginia. Bishop Thomas was known for his powerful preaching and practical teaching, with a God given ability to encourage, challenge and motivate people to become all that God had called them to be. With his exuberant ministry style and serving as a host to many world-renown preachers, Spirit of Life Church International emerged as one of the most exciting churches on the east coast. Bishop Thomas had a deep rooted desire and passion to see the people of God discover their purpose and fulfill their destiny and without a doubt left tremendous shoes to fill at his sudden passing in November of 2004. Bishop Thomas and Dr. David C. Forbes, Jr., were the closest of friends and had been covenant brothers in ministry for over 20 years. On Sunday, April 17, 2005 shouts rang out, victory laps were run, and the Spirit of Life congregation erupted in praise and exhilaration as it was announced that Dr. Forbes would be the new pastor of Spirit of Life Church International. It must be said that Spirit of Life is elated and ever so grateful of the gift that God has given them in their new pastor. Dr. Forbes officially took the helm as pastor on May 1, 2005. He currently commutes to Roanoke each Sunday, facilitating the morning worship in Columbus before flying into Roanoke to lead worship at Spirit of Life. The atmosphere around Spirit of Life Church International can be described as one of excitement and exuberance as they embark upon a new chapter in their church history: continuing to be on the cutting edge of ministry, trail-blazing the way with the grace of God, defying all the odds, and accomplishing what many said couldn't be done!
